Napa Valley Stands with Ukraine - 2nd Annual Fundraiser a Resounding Success

14 January 2024

Napa Valley, CA, January 14, 2024 - Napa Valley to Ukraine hosted its 2nd Annual Fundraiser titled Napa Valley Stands with Ukraine, a heartwarming event held in partnership with Ukrainian American House and The Town of Yountville. The event successfully brought the community together in support of Ukrainian refugees and their ongoing needs amidst the war.

The event was made even more meaningful as it highlighted the continuing global impact of the russian invasion. Since February 2022, over 6.2 million refugees have fled Ukraine, with more than 40 Ukrainian refugees now calling Napa Valley home. These individuals and families continue to face significant challenges as they rebuild their lives far from their homeland.

The funds raised at the event will directly support Ukrainian refugees in Napa County, with a particular focus on providing monthly community dinners throughout 2024 to foster connection, support, and integration. These dinners will create a sense of belonging for refugees, helping them navigate the difficult transition to life in a new country.

Additionally, the funds will be used to offer microloans to Ukrainian families, enabling them to secure their own housing and transportation. These loans are critical in helping families achieve greater independence and stability as they start fresh in the Napa Valley area.

Among the event’s distinguished attendees were Congressman Mike Thompson, whose ongoing support for Ukraine has been invaluable, and Consulate Representative Oleskii Khorosh, who expressed the gratitude of the Ukrainian people for the unwavering solidarity shown by the Napa Valley community.

“We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from the Napa Valley community. This event demonstrates the power of unity and compassion, and how, together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of refugees and their families,” said Caroleana Kvaterchuk Allison, Executive Director of Ukrainian American House.

The event featured heartfelt speeches, local performances, and a silent auction, all contributing to raising much-needed funds for those affected by the war in Ukraine. The sense of solidarity and community spirit was palpable, as attendees came together to show their commitment to standing with Ukraine during these challenging times.
