See below their story and request:
We introduce you to youth football club "BALKANY" from Vinnytsia city, Ukraine. Today the club has 285 children aged from 5 to 14, including more than 80 children who moved from the occupied regions.
The war incited by Russia invades daily life and psychologically affects Ukrainian children. Hourly air raid alarms, sitting endlessly underground in bomb shelters hiding from Russian missile attacks on civilian objects, loss of relatives and loved ones in the war – it significantly affects the psychological state of these kids. Every day they lose important feelings of joy, happiness, peaceful sleep, lack of opportunity to study in educational institutions. There are no places in Ukraine where people can feel safe. The children have lost their childhood.
In order to provide psychological support to these young soccer players, United Soccer Academy (Address: 1045 East Atlantic Avenue, Suite 209, Delray Beach, FL 33483, USA director Bill Fisher, website: https://unitedsocceracademy.org, phone: +1-561-901-8194), has invited the 17 players from Balkanу FC football team to participate in a 13-day soccer tour to South Florida and Orlando. The program will include friendly games, tournament participation, sightseeing, and visiting Disney World. The soccer tour is from May 18-31, 2023.All costs while in Florida will be 100% sponsored by United Soccer Academy, Florida Rush and FUTSOC.
To travel to the Floriuda the players and team does not have the funds to purchase train tickets from Ukraine to Poland, and then plane tickets from Poland to Miami. The club is financed by Parent’s contributions, and right now all Ukrainians are in difficult financial situations due to the war. The travel costs of the team (which will consist of 14 children and 3 trainers, is estimated at $27,000.00 US dollars.
Thus, we are seeking to raise these funds for the Balkany FC, so that the children have a chance to visit Florida and take part in the 13-day soccer tour to South Florida and Orlando. We kindly ask you to donate whatever is possible, if you would like to support this charitable deed together with us. Thank you in advance for your attention and care!
